Congratulations on an outstanding achievement and thank you for your dedication to safety.
It’s refreshing to read a nice story now and then…….
Congratulations and thanks to Mr. Batt. It is a wonderful milestone. So many drivers think only of themselves and where they want to go or do, without regard for safety.
Congratulations to Mr. Batts for 3 million miles of safe driving. It’s rare to hear of such a fabulous story of truck driver with such a safe record. This has to be a record that I will never see agian in my lifetime.
That is a fantastic story.
We need more people to drive like him.
Amazing accomplishment Mr. Batt. I’m on the insurance side of trucking and we see can happen when truckers arn’t as focused on safety as you…thank you for keeping the road safer. IMTA should do a story on this.
Ummmm…I think 3,000,000 miles is only 120 times around the earth. 24,100 times around the earth is more like 580 Million miles. I guess the actuarial staff was out to lunch!
Ummm….does anyone else have a calculator that works like mine? 24,100 times around the earth is 580 million miles. 3,000,000 miles is more like 120 times around the earth. Call the actuaries.
I’m no math expert, but…
3,000,000 miles driven
Circumference of equator is 24,901 miles
3,000,000 / 24,901 = 120.48
How has he driven enough miles to get around the world 24,100 times? Am I missing something?
Anyway, great accomplishment nonetheless!
Hope all the new guys ride with him during their training. Mr. Batt: You are the man!
The article was regarding three million miles logged with same carrier over 21 years with no preventable accidents during that time. The trucker estimated he has driven in excess of six million miles total over his career. That gentlemen would exceed the requirements for number of times around the world mentioned.
All in all, a career worthy of congratulations by anyone’s standard.
