I think that the navigators should be licensed in every state or at the least by the feds. You have people out there that will be in peoples homes with their children, have access to very personal information like social security numbers, dates of birth, health information, and they need to be fingerprinted and background checked. There needs to be some state level oversight of these folks.
Well said Jimbo. Every navigator needs to be licensed in health insurance lines with any state they advise in. And let the state departments of insurance police them, as they sovereignly should.
They are not selling insurance jw, they are just walking people through the process. If you’re thinking, isn’t that what insurance agent do, you would be thinking correctly. They aren’t.
Ah, I forgot they’re not “selling”. I still think licensing is a good idea. In those states with a state run exchange, the navigators should be state licensed at least.
Big government at its best…..I’m surprised you don’t have to have a license to ride your bike or go for a walk or even mow your yard …..or even to use the restroom…..I’m just shocked what are the regulators waiting on…..you should have a license to work at a gas station since your handling money…..where are the over regulators ….these regulators are gonna police everything…..never mind they can’t balance their own check book lol…..it’s just common sense to them lol

The Federal Government doesn’t want licensed insurance agents involved in Obamacare, period. I wonder if they even want doctors involved?
I fail to see a problem with requiring a license to sell health insurance.
