Michael D. Gantt has been named president and chief operating officer of the Fiserv Insurance Solutions Group.
Gantt, who joined Fiserv in December as chief operating officer of the Insurance Solutions Group, replaces Howard Arner, who is retiring as president. Before joining Fiserv, Gantt was an executive at Mynd Corp., formerly Policy Management Systems Corp.
A longtime veteran of the insurance and insurance technology industries, Gantt is based at the Fiserv headquarters in Brookfield, Wis.
Arner will continue to play a role at Fiserv, helping to identify and close acquisitions in the insurance industry. Since joining Fiserv in 1998 as president of what was then called Network Data Processing Corp., Arner has spearheaded a drive to acquire eight additional insurance technology companies.
Arner, who turned 60 last year, said he plans to spend much more time enjoying hobbies and his grandchildren.
