Roth, Riedel Join IIAA Staff

Justin M. Roth and Nathan M. Riedel are the newest additions to the Independent Insurance Agents of America’s government affairs staff Roth is the new senior Washington representative, while Riedel is InsurPac manager.

As the new lobbyist for IIAA, Roth will be responsible for the day-to-day legislative work on a number of issues critical to the future of independent agents. His IIAA portfolio will consist of state insurance regulation issues, crop insurance reform concerns, financial privacy-related matters and several other legislative issues.

Roth’s time in Washington includes two-years service as a legislative assistant to Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-Fla.). In this capacity, he handled several policy issues including banking, trade, small business and foreign affairs for the congressman.

Before moving to the nation’s capital, Roth served as a legislative assistant to Sen. Anna Cowin, R-Fla. He is a graduate of Florida State University with degrees in Political Science and History. Riedel comes to IIAA from the National Mining Association where he was the political action coordinator.

In this role, he served as deputy director of two political action committees and managed the PACs’ fundraising, disbursement and legal compliance tasks. Before that he worked in the finance department of the National Republican Congressional Committee as an assistant to the director.
