Tennessee-based Diversified Product Inspections Inc., a provider of independent product investigations specializing in product failures, air contamination and fire investigations for the insurance industry, announced that the amount of defective product inspections per month has increased by 181 percent since January of this year.
According to Warren Wankelman, vice president of marketing for Diversified Production Inspections, in January 2001, the company embarked on an aggressive marketing program to the insurance industry. The company’s primary marketing tool is the free Subrogation Training Seminar for insurance adjusters and subrogation professionals. The free seminars show adjusters how to use DPI’s services and presents a broad variety of product failures not generally considered for subrogation.
In a highly competitive industry with resistance to premium increases, insurers are increasingly looking to subrogation as a means of improving the bottom line.
