W. R. Berkley Corporation appointed William Robert Berkley, Jr., a senior vice president and director of the company, to be responsible for oversight of the company’s specialty insurance operations.
Berkley succeeds Edward Thomas, who has elected to become a consultant to the company working on special projects.
Berkley joined W. R. Berkley Corporation in 1997, was elected to its board of directors in 2001 and became a senior vice president in January 2002. Before joining W. R. Berkley Corporation, he worked as an investment banker in the corporate finance department of Merrill Lynch & Company.
