TechVantage, Victor O. Schinnerer’s E&O program for technology professionals, has introduced a new policy form that provides basic
coverage to smaller firms at a lower premium and deductible.
“The Basic Form is designed for smaller, start-up firms who need coverage but don’t want the extras that come with the Broad Form,” said Mark Wolf, the program manager.
The TechVantage Basic Form is a claims-made policy that covers the errors and omissions of all the employees of a firm, any joint ventures and the firm’s newly-acquired subsidiaries. The Basic Form is
intended for smaller technology companies who do not employ independent contractors or do not design software and therefore have little copyright infringement exposure.
Schinnerer will continue to offer the TechVantage Broad Form policy which includes the E&O coverage of the basic form plus coverage for copyright infringement, punitive damages and independent contractors.
The TechVantage program is designed for technology firms and professionals such as custom programmers, data processors, system designers, web designers and Internet service providers. More information about TechVantage is available at: www.PlanetTechVantage.com.
TechVantage is written on a non-admitted basis. It is not available in
Arkansas, Colorado, North Dakota or New Hampshire. The carrier for TechVantage is Indian Harbor, an A.M. Best A+ rated company.
