EdChoice, Schinnerer’s program for small to mid-size colleges and universities, is now offering the General Liability policy to educational institutions in all states except Alaska, District of Columbia, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, and West Virginia. The policy was previously available in only 16 states.
The general liability policy covers exposures such as corporal punishment, athletics or sports activities, host liquor as well as limited pollution coverage. The policy also features a broad definition
of insured that includes school nurses, speech therapists, athletic trainers and physical therapists. Coverage includes non-owned watercraft up to 50 feet. Foreign coverage for students and faculty traveling abroad is also available.
Schinnerer’s target risks for the program include small to mid-size public and private non-profit colleges and universities, including community colleges, with enrollments of up to 5,000.
EdChoice is underwritten by one of the CNA companies. In addition to the GL policy, CNA and Schinnerer have teamed up to offer a Trustees, Officers, Management and Employee Liability Policy, available on a non- admitted basis in all states. Other coverages,
including auto, property and umbrella, may also be available through CNA.
