Fortress Global Offering ‘Agent Check Plus’ Program in Order to Protect Insurers

April 18, 2005

Fortress Global Investigations has launched Agent Check Plus, a program to assist insurance companies in identifying questionable agents, brokers and other representatives.

Agent Check Plus was reportedly created in response to increasing incidence of theft and misrepresentation by unscrupulous agents who pocket premiums, divert claims payments and commit other crimes. Fortress Global, a provider in the background checking industry, designed Agent Check Plus to comply with the specific requirements of the insurance industry.

Another reported differentiator of Agent Check Plus is that the applicant agent, rather than the insurance company, pays for the investigation.

“This pricing model for Agent Check Plus is similar to the current
insurance industry practice, where agents pay licensing and franchising fees to represent an insurance company,” said Robert Seiden, president of Fortress Global Investigations. “We believe that most honest brokers will be glad to participate in a system that gets rid of shady competitors. Our Agent CheckPlus program identifies an agent as having attained the high standards of a major insurance company.”

Fortress Global Investigations Corp. (http://www.FortressGlobal.com) is an international private investigations firm, led and managed by former senior leaders of the FBI, CIA, DEA, Interpol and the Manhattan (N.Y.) District Attorney’s Office.
