The Society of Insurance Trainers & Educators has created the Insurance Training Professional (ITP) designation in order to recognize excellence in professional trainers. The designation recently announced to the SITE membership requires both training and insurance knowledge.
In announcing the new designation, SITE President Beth Gamble Riggins, of South Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, said: “This designation is designed to recognize the professionalism of insurance trainers. It includes a requirement for insurance knowledge, either through insurance designations or education, or through experience. It also requires a minimum of five years training experience and training knowledge as evidenced through study or other course work.”
Riggins said the ITP designation “is a balanced blend of insurance, training, education, and years of industry experience.”
The first conferment(s) of the new designation will be during the SITE Annual Conference on June 28, 2005 in Seattle, WA.
Applications for the designation are available from the SITE office (2120 Market Street, #108, San Francisco, CA 94114 or by calling 415-621-2830 or via e-mail to ed@insurancetrainers.org).
SITE is a non-profit, professional membership organization dedicated to training and education in the insurance industry. The 50-year-old organization has a membership of nearly 700 professionals in training and education in insurance. Visit SITE at www.insurancetrainers.org
