April 4, 2006

AIG American General has opened a new operational group, AIG Employee Benefit Solutions, to address the needs of the employee benefits market. The new organization is the result of the recent integration of the Group Benefits, Group Worksite and Individual Worksite (formerly AIG Workplace Solutions) business lines.

AIG Employee Benefit Solutions will offer group employee benefit insurance products – both employer-funded and employee-paid – and individual worksite products from one platform. AIG Employee Benefit Solutions will focus primarily on small- and medium-sized businesses, a sector that has a compelling need for integrated group/worksite benefit solutions.

Chris Calos, executive vice president and Profit Center Leader notes, “This is an exciting time for our business. With healthcare costs increasing, employers are looking for cost-effective benefit solutions that will still enable them to attract and retain quality employees. We’re in a unique position to fill these needs, backed by the vast expertise and extensive resources of the AIG companies, which are among the market’s leading insurance and financial services providers.”

Through a new strategic alliance with Tampa, Florida-based HealthPlan Services, Inc., AIG Employee Benefit Solutions will provide benefits brokers with a full suite of leading-edge technology solutions as well as a vast array of time-saving services to help them better serve their clients.

AIG Employee Benefit Solutions officially launched on March 29, 2006.
