Insurance broker Beecher Carlson has expanded its New York Executive Liability team with the addition of Frederick A. Ryder as managing director. Ryder will focus on business and client development for Executive Liability Products by leveraging his 36 years in the business.
Prior to joining Beecher Carlson, Ryder was the former vice chairman and chief operating officer of Marsh Inc.’s FINPRO U.S. practice. In that capacity, he also served as a senior advisor to many FINPRO clients, and most recently concentrated on settling complex D&O claims and litigation. He first joined Marsh & McLennan Inc. as manager of its Financial Services/Institutions Department in Morristown, New Jersey and shortly thereafter, worked in Bermuda with the MMI/J.P. Morgan Task Force setting up ACE Insurance Co. (Bermuda) Ltd.
Ryder also spent several years with Cameron & Colby, Inc. as the underwriting manager in New York for First State Insurance Co. and New England Insurance Co. for all directors and officers and professional liability. He began his insurance career with National Union Fire Insurance Co., a member company of AIG, working for many years in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, specializing in D&O.
