Brownyard Offers Admitted Market for Alarm Program

December 10, 2008

Brownyard Group announced the firm will offer an admitted market for its Alarm Services program, which provides coverage for fire and burglar alarm companies nationwide.

Arch Insurance Co., rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best, will initially provide admitted markets for the Alarm Services program in 25 states, and is expected to serve as the admitted market in a majority of states by January 2009. Arch Insurance Co. is part of the Arch Insurance Group, which has underwritten programs for Brownyard Group for the past six years.

“This is one of just a few admitted Alarm Services programs in the country,” said Tory Brownyard, president of Brownyard Group.

Brownyard’s exclusive broker for the Alarm Services program is Tanty Risk Management Services (TRMS), which has provided underwriting expertise, risk management advice and contract negotiation for the burglar and fire alarm industry for over 35 years. In New York, TRMS and Select Insurance Agency serve as brokers for Brownyard. Select is a New York-based, family-owned business that has provided insurance to thousands of businesses for more than 20 years.

Brownyard’s Alarm Services program provides general liability coverage on alarm operations, CCTV and card key access and is able to accommodate incidental exposures such as lock and safe, intercom systems, central vacuum and portable fire extinguisher sales and service. The program uses a specialized form designed just for the Alarm Services industry, and has limits up to $5 million aggregate and $1 million occurrence.
