Cutting SAM strips or using a 6″ pre cut would help somewhat but for the amount of time spent it would be much more effewctive to use an entire SAM underlayment with shingle fashion sealed seams.
We are a third party guarantor and require SAM on any asphalt shingle or metal roof that is less than 4″/12″. Some Design Authorities here will specify it on steeper slopes when there is increased exposure to wind driven rain. All details and protusions (pipes, skylights etc)should be tied into the field membrane as well
Where do I buy the sealant? I am having a new roof put on in October!
