ACE and gplink Launch New Yacht Coverage

February 7, 2012

ACE Recreational Marine Insurance and gplink have announced broadened coverage and are new savings to qualifying customers through the new ACE gplink Insurance Program.

The new product is offered exclusively to owners of yachts that are powered by Caterpillar engines and equipped with an active monitoring system and service from gplink, a provider of satellite-based tracking, monitoring and notification systems.

“We’re pleased to join forces with ACE in offering this unique solution, enabling qualifying customers to take progressive and forward-thinking steps to protect their vessels,” said Dan Webb, marine business manager, of the Beaufort, N.C.-based gplink. “The gplink satellite-based tracking, monitoring and notification system complements and enhances the product and service offerings of ACE Recreational Marine Insurance.”

Insureds will receive premium savings, as well as coverage enhancements, including an expanded towing benefit that will reimburse owners for the costs of transporting an insured vessel to an approved Caterpillar repair facility.

“We are excited to offer this program enhancement to gplink customers,” said Damon Hostetter, senior vice president, ACE Recreational Marine Insurance. “This endorsement provides an added measure of protection and savings for these particular yacht owners who take extra steps to protect their vessels.”

The ACE gplink Insurance Program is available thorough ACE Recreational Marine specialist agents. The Philadelphia-based ACE Recreational Marine Insurance is part of ACE Private Risk Services, offers all-risk insurance coverage to the entire spectrum of pleasure yachts and boats, including classic boats, luxury mega-yachts and sailboats, sport fishing boats, ski boats, personal watercraft, high performance vessels and select charter vessels.
