Great American Insurance Group has made available a new coverage option for abuse or molestation with expenses covered outside of limits. The Specialty Human Services Division will offer this new specialty coverage to its independent insurance agents who market to social service organizations.
Great American’s new abuse or molestation coverage option pays specified claim and legal defense costs outside the policy limits. This feature is significant because the successful defense of abuse or molestation-related claims often requires specialized legal counsel and expert opinions, which can be very costly.
Great American’s new coverage option provides a broad definition of abuse that includes any actual, threatened or alleged conduct, error or omission, in addition to sexual and non-sexual behaviors. This coverage option is available to most social service organizations in states in which the new abuse or molestation coverage form is filed.
