250 hours for a commercial airline license doesn’t seem like very much. I want to know that my pilot has landed in the driving rain, navigated around thunderstorms, and flown in and out of busy airports. Can this be done in 250 hours?
What’s even more scary is California DMV only requires 6 hours behind the wheel training before handing out a driver license. Drivers of automobiles don’t have the benefit of flight management systems, so training is even more critical for drivers on public roads. I’d like to know the guy in the car next to me has at least basic car control skills and an understanding of physics. Can that all be done in 6 hours?
What are they waiting for? More dead passengers?

No kidding, in TN you don’t have to have any kind of driver training to get a license. Where I grew up, it was a requirement to graduate high school.
I still laugh that a hair stylist has to have my CE credits than us insurance agents.
