So our President came out and said in a speech in New Jersey after his love in with Christie that he pledged to help Monroe, Oklahoma rebuild after the devastating tornado. Monroe????? Perhaps he had a teleprompter malfunction and couldn’t speak without reading the wrong name. Had this detached politician been paying attention, he would have gotten the name right since it has been on TV with every major network since it happened. What an insult to the great people of Oklahoma who will recover from this without much help from FEMA. The insurance industry is doing great work up there and the people are very resilient.

Just for kicks and giggles, I checked google maps. There is a Monroe, OK, 205 MILES east of Moore. Yeah, that’s a pretty lousy mistake.

      Agent,
My guess is that they will forget about this mistake as they are cashing their Federal relief checks. Oklahoma would ask for and receive federal aid from President Obama even if he called the town Moonshine.
I am not defending this mistake, he should know better. However, OK is just another red state that complains about the size of the government and government spending, but they received $49.3 Billion more in Federal spending than they paid in Federal taxes from 1990-2009. (http://www.economist.com/blogs/dailychart/2011/08/americas-fiscal-union). Look at the chart and tell who are the takers.

He obviously gets all of his news and intelligence from the media which he has admitted on more than a few occassions recently stating he found out important news there rather than from his own people, so he must have seen all the reports about “Monroe”. Probably the most detached manager ever. Today he’s back in Chicago fundraising. Fundraising? What’s he running for now? The good thing about watching TV for all his news and intelligence and doing all these needless fundraising is that it keeps him from his most importnat job, ruining the country.

Dave, I haven’t seen one lamestream media reporter say it was Monroe, Oklahoma. Monroe, La is about 350 miles southeast in Louisiana and they have had no storms. Maybe he was due to meet with Landrieu to give her the Louisiana Purchase money promised for her vote on Obamacare and that was on his mind. We know how overworked he is with all that golf and fundraising.

Perhaps he is fund raising for Rahm Dead Fish, the esteemed mayor of Chicago in a new campaign to confiscate guns from the citizens since they have the worst crime of any major city.
