Why don’t they just tell the players that the league is folding because the sport is too dangerous? I’m sure that will go over well.

It’s just amazing that a game where you know you will get hit and hit hard can sue over injuries. The NFL should open up separate lawsuits against the player that hit the player that obtained a concussion, since they were the cause of it. Then sue the players association for not controlling their players. Maybe that will stop the ridiculous lawsuits. I see hockey is starting one up now that the NFL paid a large sum.

Are American Indians offended by the name Redskins because they don’t want to be associated with these law suites? I as a fan am offended. I’m just an American. Merriweather is right to an extend. The window to hit these guys is so small that knee & hip injuries will be the result. In the Bears game on Sunday, a DB put his hand on the receiver’s shoulder and got flagged for a Horse Collar when the review clearly showed all he did was put his hand on the shoulder and did not drag the receiver down by the collar. Nothing like getting paid millions to play and then sue later when they knew full well what the consequences of the job could be.

This could get tricky, since the NFL is a “non-profit” organization. That means they don’t pay taxes, even though the stadiums are payed for with tax money. Interesting. It’s amazing how an organization that makes a profit from every ticket sale can claim “non-profit” status. How much of that money goes to charity?
