Hope they let me have the money. It’s not like it’s millions. Once taxes come out of it, that 20k will, if he’s lucky, buy a few additional books & maybe pay a small part of his tuition.

It will be around $100,000 which is over 3 years of his college costs ($33,000 per the article)…there is nothing small about that. That will be a big help for him since his scholarship is only $4,000…

Daft much? It’ll be $20,000 after taxes… He’ll be lucky to keep a little more than half of the $20k after Uncle Sam gets done with it… where do you get $100,000? Did you even read the whole article?

The prize money is $20,000. Why do you think he’s getting $100,000?

I hope he gets to keep it too. The odds of just being picked for the shot attempt got to be 20,000 to 1, then the odds are against him to even make the shot. It is a cool achievement and hopefully he will get to keep the $$$$.

I’m surprised that being a college or pro player did not automatically disqualify him from the contest in the first place. Usually the “hole-in-one” insurer excludes such participants.

NAIA sports are the equivalent of backyard football, street hockey, and cow tipping. Still made a nice shot, let him keep the cash.
