Monsanto is pure evil and our government is in bed with all of them. Organic farmers are really getting the shaft. GMO food has been proven to cause digestive problems in pigs and cows that are eating their GMO corn, soybean, and sprouts. What impact this has on humans consuming genetically modified food is just coming into play. How many children are admitted to St. Jude Hospital each year? Children should not be getting brain cancer or any other cancer for that matter. Their brains aren’t even full developed for goodness sake. Most European countries have banned GMO food but not us. Our politicians have way too much of their money invested in this vile company to let it fail. We screw the organic farmers and protect Monsanto. I think they should change their name to Monsatan.
Perhaps the independent farmers should sue Monsanto for pollution damage vis a vie contamination of their non-gmo product with gmo pollen. It appears that if Monsanto or any other producer/distributor of gmo seed can make claim vs independent farms based on samples showing minor intrusion of gmo product into their fields that the same evidence should work the opposite direction – contamination from gmo fields wherein wind blows pollen into non gmo fields and pollutes the crop already in place their.
Cross pollination=cross contamination.
I am not a farmer or seed distributor and frankly, all crops are modified by some sort of selection but property rights work both ways and I do not believe it is possible to have one crop near another and not have cross contamination. If my neighbor creates a circumstance on his own property that decreases my ability to use my property as would commonly be accepted then he has violated my property rights.
Perhaps Monsanto should have contracts with every farm so their is no issue or stop claiming that someone stole their seed because their product contaminated the crop. Or perhaps they could go the cotton route and produce sterile seed so it has to be repurchased regularly.
Organic farmers sued Monsanto for cross-contamination damages in Missouri and lost. It was a situation where organic growers were producing crops worth several dollars more per bushel over market, and Monsanto was able to force them to sell the crops to Monsanto at market, due to GMO contamination.
We should have seen the handwriting on the wall back when the Bush administration not only allowed Monsanto to genetically modify their seeds but they were only fed organic food by the White House chef! Remember, they also sued dairy farmers who put labels on their milk that indicated no use of hormones or gmo feed. The dairy farmers stood tall against the administration and refused to take the disclaimer off their milk. Corporate America runs the country and with their 60 to 1 political donation ratio they will have the ear of congress for decades to come. Teach your children to read labels and ask questions… maybe we’ll finally find out where all this autism is coming from.

David and Goliath…(but remember who won in the end). There is much backlash at Monsanto for their practices. There may be tipping point soon.

Big business owns and runs America, not the politicians in office.
