Who pays for the defense costs and any ultimate indemnity that Spitzer may be found responsible for? Spitzer or his employer, the State of New York? Would be sad to see the taxpayers of the State of New York be hung out to dry for this. On the other hand, if this was in the scope of Elliot’s duties, is it fair that he pay? Unless there was obvious prosecutorial malpractice.
One last question, how does one go about defaming Hank? Doesn’t he do that well himself? I really despise both men. I’d be happy with them facing off to a duel to the death.
Wouldn’t a duel be unfair to the 89 year old Greenberg up against a 55 year old who can still see? Perhaps Greenberg could show up with an Uzi and open fire.

He has made a career of bringing suits agains people to get headlines and advance his career hoping to get a settlement that makes him look good because most people he attacks will not pay the enormous legal costs it takes to fight the State of New York. Had Hank Greenberg been in charge of AIG (he was ousted because of Spitzer’s suit), it would not have made the stu\pit bets that caused the Federal government to bail them out for $182 billion. I conclude that Spitzer cost the American taxpayer $182 billion.
Spitzer buys his lurid headlines with the taxpayers’ money. It took Ken Langone $30 million to fight him and win. It was rational for 91 year old Greenburg to settle for .82% of what it was asking for in a settlement to concentrate on putting Spitzer in his place before Hank dies.
“Spitzer” means “pointer” in German. He is good at pointing the finger at people and making self serving headlines, but never wins the case, Instead he he makes a deal so his victims pay less in a settlement than they they would in legal fees defending themselves.
