Wow California! You seem to have a vehicle theft problem out there. Could it be all those wonderful illegal aliens you let in finding a new trade, chop shops?
Progressive is an insurance company. Also, I would be willing to bet that if you thought about it just a little, your own state has it’s share of sleezy politicians along with many others. Start your list…..
Let me clarify for you. How about Progressive Socialist politicians? California has few rivals except perhaps Illinois where they are that plus very corrupt. The last two governors have served time or are currently serving time. This seems to be an affliction for northern Blue States and the east coast and left coast.
Born in Illinois and billed from California. Was a radio host and part time pudding wrestler before he met Nancy Davis (from the family that is the precursor to the modern day Koch Family). I guess it is true that all politicians from Illinois are corrupt. Still trying to figure why a bunch of grown men still have posters of this guy above their beds.

I wonder if/how the rankings would change if thefts were related to an area’s number of registered cars and/or number of drivers instead of overall population? Not everyone owns a car.
Andrew, after they steal them, they do have a car at least until they take them to Mexico and then they come back for more. Those Mexicans really like the Suburbans and big pick ups since they can hold a lot of people. We had an accident reported in Texas last year and a Ford F-250 had 24 people including kids in it, ran off the road, hit a tree and killed 11. I am not sure what the disposition of that was. It was human trafficking.
When IJ publishes the most popular stolen vehicles, you’ll see that the list is made up of 15-25 year old cars-mostly Hondas and Toyotas but also GM and Ford too. The parts aren’t easily available for these older cars even though many are still in use in California so some will steal the cars and sell the parts to body shops and individuals in these communities to keep these clunkers running.
The tie in is that many of these communities have significant populations of relatively poor people who rely on these older cars for transportation.
Its sad but very real and true.
Yes, we see the clunkers running around driven by Walmartians and Hispanics. Most are uninsured and uninspected as well since they won’t pass inspection.

At least this is just one more thing we are number one at!!!
You are also number one at sleezy Progressive politicians who is running the state into complete bankruptcy.

Didn’t Reagan come from Cali?

Good thing they realize that Texico is not part of the US. These figures would be a mess if they were included.
So, let me get this straight. Only Hispanics steal cars?
Cap, How did u jump to that conclusion? All his post states is that they drive around in clunkers. Nothing about who is stealing them.
Is Darrell Issa Hispanic, then?
In Fresno they arrest a car thief, take him to jail, jail is over crowded so they have to release him and he steals a car to get home.
It’s just the same dozen or so cars being stolen, moved to another town, and `then being stolen back.
Thanks everyone for maintaining your consistent bigoted ramblings and finding ways to drag political rhetoric into the topic. Stay Classy!
