Truth is stranger than fiction. A co-worker collapsed and died in the on-site gym a week before our on-site biometric screening. My blood pressure was one point out of acceptable range. Result: Subjected to six phone coaching sessions re: “Stress” as those who opted for on-site screening had no easy process to get an exception.

I understand both sides of this arguement — but it seems like a very “big-brother’ish” move. I am glad that a large corporation is giving access to healthier choices (example – only food on premises is junk food). I understand that people that work hard at staying healthy are rewarded, but the penalty seems harsh for those with high blood pressure, etc. At my sister’s place of employment, the penatly was going to apply to her because her husband is a smoker (she never has been)and is on her group medical coverage – so now the control is not over just the employee but also family members.

… and why does Honeywell give us cookies, pizza, ice cream, and cup cakes to celebrate accomplishments?

The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive, though. Healthy employees equal healthy bottom lines, for sure.

One thing says it all – self insured. Just another way to steal from us employees to pay for big Dave’s end of the year bonus and make the rich richer, while not doing what’s right. I’m sooooo tired if it. Every quarter we’re told to keep up the great work – we’re making them sooo much money. We the people are making less and less as time goes by.

I’m sure Commander Cote won’t be rolling up his sleeve for the bp reading or having his waist circumference checked to establish a bmi, which based on recent company pictures, could use a redux.
For the short term, employers are using this shabby healthcare bill to shed more of the ‘L’ from the the p+l, aka profit + loss. This explains to me why Dave had been buddy buddy with Obama during his first term. The non-union private sector employee is taking it on the chin whilst many government sector employees still enjoy the lucrative 1970’s benefit packages. This in addition to the Commander in Thiefs shamnesty for 30 million illegal immigrants puts more pressure on the private sector employee to subsidize it all. When is enough, enough?

The Dictator Cote, (Das Furor) will make the company pay for his medical increases, he will just tack it onto his perks package, like his two Gulfstream jets he forces into contract negotiations to ensure he has these private jets at his disposal. Cote does not pay for anythign himselfs, so not to worry, Cotes bottom line is secure, even if the products his company produces are not safe (i.e. Hunt Lear Jet fraud case).
