Hi FFA. Perhaps they should have a sit in at the DOJ to block this just like they are doing on the gun control issue. Hire some people with signs to march up and down Elizabeth Warren can lead the way.
My producer told me he saw BCBS is filing for a 40% Rate Hike in TX & OK. I havent read through the Rep Replacement plan yet, but Ill bet it not a 40% jump in price.
FFA, if you have been following the stories, the rate hikes are going on across the country. The failed premise of Obamacare allows all the pre-x people to enroll at the same rates as the healthy. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that will never work in the real world. Pre-x people should have remained in the Pools and the healthy enrolled in the regular plan. Blue Cross paid out $775 million in NC and only took in $75 million in premiums including subsidies. How long could that last without the big rate increases? If you like your plan, you can keep it. If you like your doctor, you can keep him. The average family should save $2,500 per year on premiums. Have we heard that somewhere before?
Everything you wrote is true, yet you received 6 down votes from ignorant democrats / liberals who are in denial of the disastrous failure that is the ACA.
I doubt repeal is necessary at this point. The market will likely find solutions of the Republican Plan isn’t feasible ( I haven’t had time, yet, to read its’ details – that may be available). But a repeal by Congress in 2017 would clear the way for a feasible replacement that WILL BE READ BY ALL BEFORE IT IS VOTED UPON.

Yogi Polar Berra,
Many posters from all political perspectives have been down voted when posting something that is 100% true. Why is it you righties that are the only ones who complain?

@Ron; the volume differences in ‘down votes’ on conservative thoughts strongly suggest BOTS are applied to stifle / hide/ bias the true support of such comments. That’s why I often make such remarks. BOT, what do I know? I’m just a bit smarter than your average Polar Berra.

True, saw this in Dallas Morning News couple weeks ago….
The first insidious Dem plan was Obamacare which has proved to be ruinous to the country. The second insidious plan is Single Payer they would dearly love to have. The problem they have is their leader will not be around for the next round and Ryan’s plan will replace after Obamacare is repealed.
What happened to free enterprise? Unless an unbiased review truly shows that some type of federal law is going to be broken by these mergers, let them happen. If they don’t, the selling companies will probably go under like others have and you will still have 3 major players left. Only this time with an increase in unemployment!
One reason given by Dick Sue-them-all, US Senator D-CT, to prevent the merger was a loss of jobs in the health insurance industry when such a merger occurs.
Will he use the same reason in an argument against a govt run single-payer system when that is brought out for a vote?
The Dems make this necessary by passing the PPACA and now they dont like the results. Well, repeal the PPACA then. knuckleheads.

Yes, Elizabeth can lead the march in her squaw dress.
Fauxcahontas spoke with forked tongue when she applied for admission to Harvard. That qualifies her to be a Dem Congressperson.
Why would Dems care. Obama care was set up to fail so that Goverment run healthcare could come in and “save the day”. Just a stepping stone.
Fortunately, there are insightful industry veterans like yourself to educate us and warn us of the insidious Dem plan!
