Thanks Doug. I know some people don’t like me asking questions ((cough) http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/national/2017/07/17/457712.htm/?comments) but I appreciate your response. That’s some serious hail damage you sustained! I’m sure the body shops will be busy for quite some time. Good luck scheduling repairs!
Yes, Agent, because the 8 year old program “Cash for Clunkers” is what I would consider to be a new car…
Plus, I love that you probably snorted with delight about the possibility that I own a Prius or Subaru, but would that not make me smart? Much, much higher resale value and fuel efficiency than most of their competitors, after all. I presume you would have me drive a piece of garbage Dodge around, that loses half its resale value the moment you drive it off the lot. Or another so-called “American” car, actually built in Canada or Mexico? But you don’t care about local jobs, right, just who at the top gets the money?
BTW, It was a Hyundai, made in presumably your neck of the woods, Alabama. By non-union labor, I presume. Be still your beating heart, did you get a half decent chub reading that?
to clarify, when I first wrote the comment to lead this topic, I said “my new car” but erased it so as to not come off elitist. (Fat chance in a Hyundai, I know!)
When I posted it, there was an error and my original comment was deleted. So I went more simple on the current one.
The hailstorm “barely lasted 30 minutes”. 1 minute of baseball sized hail will do this amount of damage, 30 minutes and the cars would be total losses, not just damaged. What a ridiculous statement.
$5,000 bucks in hail damage on one of my vehicles. Thanks, Obama!
Did they have to replace pieces or was the estimate written for Paintless Dent Repair?
Luckily, almost all PDR. They have to replace a few pieces, but no glass and none of the major parts (hood, roof, trunk)

So you had one of those Cash for Clunker replacement Subaru’s or is it a Prius?
