Argonaut Group Inc., headquartered in San Antonio, announced that its Board of Directors appointed Hector DeLeon as a member of Argonaut Group’s Board effective February 3, 2003.
“Mr. DeLeon has more than 25 years of service to clients in a broad spectrum of insurance and financial services markets,” commented Gary Woods, chairman of the Board of Argonaut Group. “His wealth of experience in understanding the issues and serving the needs of property and casualty insurance companies along with his extensive legal knowledge make him an excellent complement to our existing Board.”
DeLeon is managing partner of DeLeon, Boggins & Icenogle, P.C., which he founded in 1977.
From 1975 to 1977, DeLeon was general counsel of the Texas State Insurance Board. He continues to specialize in insurance law and regulatory affairs. He taught at the University of Texas School of Law as an Adjunct Professor, receiving a Faculty Service Award in 1995. DeLeon previously served as a director of Titan Holdings Inc., a publicly traded property and casualty insurance company based in San Antonio.
DeLeon received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas School of Law in 1973 and a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Texas in 1970. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Administrative Law.
