William T. Hold, Ph.D, president of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research in Austin, Texas, was named to Insurance Newscast’s annual list of the “100 Most Powerful People in the Insurance Industry.”
According to the National Alliance, the recognition is given to the 100 people who have made extraordinary and significant contributions to the insurance industry and its customers, and innovations in the development and advancement of insurance products, services and systems for the security, protection and overall benefit of society.
According to Walt Podgurski, chairman and CEO of Insurance Newscast, “We take pride in our list and are honored to name these people to our list of the 100 most powerful.” He continued, “Most likely, they have worked hard and have great integrity and management skills, and the reason they have power is that they have been given that power by others because they are ‘trusted’ … their power is but a reflection of the confidence and faith others have in them, and their power is viewed by them as a guardianship, duty and charge to serve others.”
Dr. Hold is co-founder and president of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC), president of The Academy of Producer Insurance Studies, chief executive officer of the Society of Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR), and a co-founder of Certified Risk Managers (CRM) International—all under the umbrella of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.
Before assuming these positions, he was vice president of the National Association of Independent Insurers located in Chicago. He has also served as a consultant to many organizations, including the American and Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Transportation and the Texas State Board of Insurance.
