The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) has named Wes Bailey, president of Bailey Insurance & Risk Management Inc. in Waco, as its newest Trusted Choice Hometown Hero.
The Hometown Hero program recognizes Trusted Choice insurance agents who go above and beyond to help their communities.
Bailey is passionate about helping his community and the two things that have shaped his professional life the most: the insurance industry and Baylor University. He has strong roots in Waco and has served the Waco community in many roles, including a stint as chairman of the Waco Chamber of Commerce and a past campaign chair of the Waco United Way.
Bailey served for nine years as Regent at Baylor University and currently teaches a business insurance class at Baylor’s Hankamer School of Business.
On the occasion of his agency’s 50th anniversary, Wes Bailey presented a $100,000 check to Baylor to establish the Bill Bailey Endowed Professorship of Insurance and Risk Management in honor of his father.
He has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor designation and serves on the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors national faculty where he has taught his peers in more than 25 states the specifics of commercial general liability insurance for the last 20 years.
