So six months go by and OSHA finally gets around to citing violations. This is on a plant they hadn’t been to since 1985. 28 years between inspections seems a little long to me.

It took six months for OSHA to levy the violations because they forgot what the plant looked like when it wasn’t a hole in the ground, and they had to scout out retired inspectors to see if they still had notes and photographs to work from.

Fined only $118,000??? Really? That’s not enough.

Lets see here. 15 wrongful death claims. Half of the town destroyed. If I were the liability insurer for Adair Grain, I’d strongly consider paying out the entire $1 million coverage limits!
