Pass all the legislation you want and weather forecasting won’t be any better. They have all the technology in the world and it is no better than what they were predicting when they had weather balloons going up and limited radar.
Exactly. If you look at Bridenstine’s house website and statements he made elsewhere, he explicitly says he wants to take the funding away from anything to do with research on climate change and toward severe storms in general and tornadoes specifically. He’s on record as saying he believes that human activity and CO2 emissions have nothing to do with the climate. Me, I’d rather go along with what almost all practicing climatologists and the big global P&C carriers say, but I’m not an Oklahoma Republican, either – Sandy didn’t go there.
so where is the shift in funding coming from if this is “rebalance” of priorities. Coastal programs???
