Houston, this is what you get by becoming a sanctuary city and let illegal thugs open shop there.

    It’s not “burglary” it’s “git’n mines!”.
Careful lest we be labeled “racist”(Forget about statistics of 86% committed by blacks).

So they spend $150,000 on a study to show they don’t have enough cops. Sounds like they could have paid at least 3 cops for a year for the same amount. Gotta love Texas.

Hey Tn, this happens all over the country. Ask anyone from the Chicago or Detroit area about their problems with murder, rape, burgalary, robbery.

One can’t help but wonder if this report will become ammunition (no pun intended) for further political efforts to privatize police services, just as correctional/penal facilities (prisons) and schools have done. Big concerns here as local and state government sheds their responsibility to corporations. On the surface, government appears to save money by paying others to do what they do more inexpensively. On the other hand, it introduces a profit motive to law enforcement, potential for fraud, abuse, injustice to follow. Just thinking out loud here, drawing conclusions not necesserily in evidence, but something to be wary of when hearing of reports such as this, IMO.

Here comes OCP and Robocop…they should look at that documentary and see what happens when corporations run the police force.

That is just a drop in the bucket if that is the total cases not investigated. The Harris County Sheriffs Office had almost 13,000 cases that were unable to be investigated just in family violence alone. That isn’t even counting robberies, theft, sexual assaults, fraud, etc. Count yourselves lucky for having so few in total.

Back in 2004 I lived in Houston, and my house was broken into 3 times in 3 months, the cops took the report and nothing else happened. I suspect the report is old news. Even back then if you had an accident it took the cops 30 mins or more to show up. Even back then it was clear that the police had far more work than they had staff to handle the work. Also on New Years eve the cops could not catch folks shooting into the sky.

Word is down here in Texico that Sheriff Cliven Bundy will be taking over. He’ll be bringing his cattle and his merry band of rock eating teahadists. There is an arrangement in place to allow his cattle to graze on the campus of Davey Crockett Charter School, but until they can get over the dispute of the age of the Earth, this could take a while. Texican Government states that the Earth is only 6,000 years old, but Cliven is still having trouble counting beyond 100. Most likely, Bundy will take it upon himself to move his cattle to the sacred 15,000 seat Pop Warner football field until an agreement is finalized. So hang on to your oversized belt buckles folks, crime is here to stay in Texico until our white knight arrives.
