Severe weather late on June 12 spawned a Central Texas tornado that damaged several homes and floodwaters that washed away a car and left its driver missing.
The National Weather Service says a tornado packing winds of up to 125 mph tracked across rural Burnet County on Thursday night. The twister touched down near Briggs and traveled southwest toward Bertram.
Officials say a roof was torn off one house and another home was lifted off its foundation and tossed 150 yards away. Minor injuries were reported.
Waco authorities say flash flooding washed away a car late Thursday, and the 18-year-old driver’s body was found nearby late Friday.
Abilene fire officials say large hail caused minor head injuries to three people at a children’s parade and broke vehicle windows nearby Thursday night.
