Texas is proposing changes to continuing education (CE) requirements for agents and adjusters, and is seeking comments on the proposals.
Among the CE changes proposed by the Texas Department of Insurance are:
- An expanded list of approved course topics.
- Allowing CE providers to award electronic certificates for course completion.
- Clarifying that agents who sell annuities must get eight hours of CE related to annuities each two-year period.
A copy of the proposed changes is posted on TDI’s website at https://www.tdi.texas.gov/rules/2020/documents/proposedce.pdf
