Main Street America Group Plans Career Fair; Charity Golf, Fun Run

Property and casualty industry career opportunities will be described and applicants introduced to opportunities at The Main Street America Group in Jacksonville, Fla. during a May 17 and 18 career fair held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The fair’s goal is to highlight P/C opportunities in information technology, claims, underwriting, corporate communications, lead product analysis and as executive assistants.

Candidates attending the event will learn about the company and the industry. All candidates should bring copies of their up-to-date resume.

The Main Street America Group opened its executive offices in Jacksonville in 2002 and has established a strong presence. Tom Van Berkel, the company’s president and chief executive officer, is 2005 chairman of Jacksonville’s Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership. Cornerstone’s mission is to recruit new businesses to the area.

In addition, Main Street America is presenting sponsor of the Murray Bros. Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament, being held May 12 and 13 at the World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla. This annual fund-raiser, hosted by Academy Award® -nominated actor Bill Murray and his five brothers, raises funds for the mobile outreach unit of the St. Vincent’s Foundation of Jacksonville.

On May 14, Main Street America will host the RITA Caring and Sharing 5K Walk and Run. Proceeds from the event benefit The RITA Foundation, Inc. and other local charities. Races will start and finish at Main Street America’s office at 4601 Touchton Road East with Men’s and Women’s 5K races starts at 8:30 a.m., the 1K fun walk/run starts at 9:30 a.m.
