The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will conduct public hearings Monday in Orlando, Fla. concerning rate filings by American Strategic Insurance Corporation/ASI Assurance Corporation. American Strategic is proposing a statewide average of 19 percent for homeowners insurance in one program and 18.6 percent for dwelling fire in a second program. The requested rate increases were not uniform and some areas are subject to a higher rate increase.
American Strategic proposed statewide average rate increases ranging from 5 to 56 percent for the homeowners insurance program and 6.5 to 39.8 percent for the fire dwelling program.
The hearings will be at the Hurston Building, 400 W. Robinson Street, South Tower (1st Floor), Orlando, on Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Office of Insurance has invited policyholders and interested parties to attend the hearings.
