But if those 300,000 Kentuckians like their current plan, they can keep it, right?

4 out of 5 are getting subsidies? Everyone who has seen a premium increase is helping to pay for this coverage to others.

If 4 out of 5 get subsidies that means the 1 out 5 has to pay enough to coverage themselves and the subsidies for 4 others. This is the federal governments idea for “bending the cost curve”. Sounds like income redistribution to me. The people getting the subsidies should have to bill the 1 person paying more. Let’s make it a little more personal.

“A month into the rollout, more than 31,000 Kentuckians have signed up for medical coverage, the vast majority of whom will become Medicaid recipients.”
I guess I misread the memo. I thought success would be measured as providing the uninsured a means to acquire affordable health care, not to give it to them.
The 300,000 that are being switched to ACA approved policies will be hailed by the press and demo’s as a success – “331,000 new KY enrollees in the ACA” – those forced to switch plus those now getting free coverage. Where are all the new premium paying enrollees that are supposed to help fund this program? I think I’ll move to Nebraska to get relief from Ben Nelson’s Cornhusker medicaid kickback, good luck to the rest of you.

They did not GIVE UP their health insurance, it was TAKEN AWAY from them. “Give Up” implies that this was a voluntary action which it was not.
