Regions Insurance Expands Employee Benefits Practice in Tennessee

Birmingham, Ala.-based Regions Insurance, an affiliate of Regions Bank, said it entered into an agreement with The Hanback Group in Nashville, Tenn., to obtain the firm’s personnel and accounts. Financial terms of the agreement are not disclosed.

Regions Insurance said the deal helps Regions expand its employee benefits practice in Tennessee. The Hanback Group is an independent employee benefits insurance brokerage and human resources consulting firm.

Regions Insurance said Ben Hanback, owner of The Hanback Group, along with associates Barb Shaffer and Jennifer Spice, have joined Regions.

Regions Insurance said the addition of Hanback and his associates in Nashville is the fourth significant addition to Regions Insurance over the past 12 months as part of the firm’s efforts to expand its coverage and capabilities throughout the Southeast.

The first Regions Insurance office in Georgia opened in November of 2012, followed by the first office in South Carolina in July of this year. Additionally, Regions Insurance expanded its employee benefits practices in Memphis, Tenn. and Jackson, Miss. in January 2013.

Regions Insurance, an affiliate of Regions Bank, is ranked among the top 30 U.S. insurance brokers and is the sixth largest insurance broker based in the Southeast. Regions Insurance offers insurance and risk management services for businesses and individuals through more than 500 insurance professionals located throughout 16 states.
