Police are asking for help after a string of fires in East Tennessee that have been ruled arson.
Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes said there have been 16 arson blazes set since August, mostly in the area of Parrotsville. He said most of the fires have been set at vacant homes and abandoned barns. No injuries have been reported.
In addition to asking the public to keep a look out for suspicious activity, the sheriff has requested help from the Tennessee State Bomb and Arson division and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture in the investigation.
Anyone who sees suspicious activity should call the sheriff’s office at 423-623-6023.
