South Carolina-Based Marine Insurance Agencies Merge to Form New Company

Maritime Insurance, LLC and Port City Holdings, LLC dba KSA Marine Insurance, both of Charleston, S.C., have joined to create a new entity, Maritime Insurance International. The new company combines the agencies’ experience in the marine insurance industry while expanding its reach to international locations.

Under the new name, Maritime Insurance International (MII) creates an integrated service with access to insurance products and services in the boating and the marine industry, both personal and commercial, around the world. MII provides underwriting options from a large number of carriers.

“By combining our services, Maritime Insurance International can connect to more than double the number of carriers enabling us to cover every aspect of marine related risk for private or commercial marine needs worldwide,” said Maritime Insurance International President Nick McGinty.

The MII will focus on commercial and private marine operations.

Principals of MII include: Vice President Garrison Rudisill, who has been at KSA Marine since 2010 and was in charge of the marine division; Commercial Marine Underwriting Manager Vance Barker who has more than 32 years of experience focused on commercial marine and aviation insurance.

The company president is former Charleston City Marina and City Marina Company General Manager McGinty. He started Maritime Insurance in 2007. Maritime Insurance International Chairman John Foreman has more than five years of experience and is co-founder and president of King Street Agency Insurance.

Offices are located in Charleston, S.C.
