IFG Companies Taps Blumencranz to Head Sales, Marketing

IFG Companies has added Brett M. Blumencranz as senior vice president, and head of Sales and Marketing. Blumencranz comes to IFG with more than 20 years of experience in business development within the financial services industry, including the development and execution of sales and growth strategies in insurance.

Blumencranz will be based in IFG’s Alpharetta, Ga., office and will report to Christopher M. Lewis, IFG Companies’ Group president.

Lewis noted that Blumencranz’s addition to the IFG leadership comes as IFG is expanding its product and service offerings for its wholesale producers and customers.

Blumencranz was previously with Wells Fargo Insurance, where he held numerous leadership roles in sales and business development. Blumencranz began his career in insurance at BWD Group in New York where he spent six years as an insurance producer. He then returned to his hometown of Tampa, Fla., where he worked in investment and financial planning roles with Prudential Financial and ProVise before joining Wells Fargo in 2005.

Blumencranz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College and various licenses in the insurance and financial services industries.

IFG Companies is a privately held insurance group providing property-casualty insurance on both a non-admitted and an admitted basis. IFG has two principal business segments, the Bind Division and the Brokerage Division.

The Bind Division offers liability and property coverages for smaller businesses and other entities written through a national network of contracted producers. The two business units within the Bind Division are (i) Property and Casualty and (ii) Garage-related business.

The Brokerage Division: Offers liability and property coverage to meet the specialized needs of small to medium-sized firms as well as certain larger businesses. The five business units within the Brokerage Division are: Primary Casualty; Excess Casualty; Primary Property; Layered & Shared Property; and Inland Marine.

Insurance underwritten by the business units may be issued through one of four affiliated insurers which are indirect, wholly-owned subsidiaries of IFG: Alamance Insurance Company; The Burlington Insurance Company; First Financial Insurance Company; and Guilford Insurance Company.
