The California Department of Insurance (CDI) Producer Licensing Bureau announced the availability of a new web-based search to locate education providers and course offerings. Agents will no longer have to wait for the listing of providers and courses needed to complete their continuing education. Agents will now be able to go online at www.insurance.ca.gov to locate a course to meet their needs.
There are two types of searches available depending on the viewer’s needs. The “Provider Search” will return a list with the provider name, telephone number and a link to the courses offered by the provider. The “Course Offering Search” allows the agent to set criteria (i.e., license type, education type, etc.) to narrow the search field and return a list of courses that meet chosen criteria. The agent can then follow a link to obtain the course offering details.
CDI believes this new feature will allow agents to easily locate the continuing education courses they need. Individuals searching for a pre-license course will also be able to locate courses and providers.
For further information, please contact the Producer Licensing Bureau’s Education Section at (916) 492-3064, or send e-mail to License.Bureau@insurance.ca.gov.
