Norman J. Levine, executive director of the California Insurance Wholesalers Association, passed away on Oct. 9.
Levine, 74, had an insurance career that spanned a number of decades, entering the industry as soon as he graduated from Northwestern University.
He founded the NorCo Agency Inc. in 1960 and would serve as president of the San Fernando Valley Insurance Agents Association and on many committees for AAMGA and NAPSLO.
Levine was one of the founders of CIWA and was president in 1996.
“Norm Levine was one of the founding members of CIWA and the backbone of the association,” said a spokesperson for CIWA. “He enjoyed everything from planning large events such as Wholesaler Industry Day to the day-to-day operation of the Association. He truly gave his all to CIWA and he will be terribly missed.”
A native of Chicago, Levine is survived by his wife of 50 years, Adelyne, two sons, a daughter, and two grandchildren.
