Colo. Division Publishes 2002 Workers’ Comp, Employers Liability Guide

September 27, 2002

The Colorado Division of Insurance has published the 2002 Workers’ Compensation and Employers Liability Insurance guide, a survey of workers’ compensation and employers liability insurance loss cost multipliers in Colorado.

Colorado employers are required to carry workers’ comp coverage, although certain exceptions to this requirement may include a sole proprietor or any general working partner, a corporate officer, or a member of a limited liability company who has opted out of the workers’ compensation system.

Employers buying workers’ comp insurance to cover their employees can review the loss cost multipliers shown in the publication to compare the multipliers from 251 insurance companies.

Employers are encouraged to talk to several agents and companies before purchasing a policy. The loss cost multipliers provided in the guide are from multipliers filed by all active workers’ comp companies conducting business in Colorado.

More information on the guide is available by logging onto www.dora.state.co.us/insurance under publications and/or workers’ compensation.
