Tim Rush, a 17-year veteran of the insurance software industry and former COO of Superior Access Internet Software, has formed a new software venture, SPIRATI Inc., with former colleagues Larry Nichols and Jonathan Reddekopp.
Based in Irvine, Calif., SPIRATI provides solutions that allow insurance companies, brokers, and agents, to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and revenue, as well as improve service levels for their policyholders. This is accomplished through rate quoting and underwriting systems for all lines of business, as well as compiling multiple data sources into a single easy-to-navigate interface.
“Although SPIRATI is a start-up, its employees are not,” stated Mr. Rush, president and CEO of SPIRATI. “Throughout our individual histories, we’ve all successfully tackled insurance business challenges and automation issues many times over, and those successes have taught us what actually works in solving today’s business problems.”
Prior to Rush’s three years with Irvine-based SAIS, he served as vice president of West Coast Sales and Operations for DORIS Inc., a Georgia-based insurance software provider. Rush also served as president and vice president of Sales, among other positions, for CAIR Systems, an automation development company specializing in management systems, comparative commercial and personal lines rating systems.
Larry Nichols spent almost three years with SAIS where most recently he led all software development as vice president of Software Development. Nichols was responsible for software architecture, development, coordination, implementation, and orchestrated the ongoing adoption of new development technologies including Microsoft’s .NET as the preferred technology for providing Web services and B2B solutions. Before joining SAIS, Nichols spent several years as a vice president of Operations for Wireless Source Inc. He will serve as senior vice president and chief technology officer.
Jonathan Reddekopp spent the last two years at SAIS where most recently he served as the lead software designer. Prior to SAIS, Reddekopp spent 13 years with such insurance companies as SAFECO, UniCARE, and Fremont as an underwriter for various lines of business including commercial liability, workers’ compensation and excess casualty, giving him knowledge and insight into the needs, workflow, and operation of insurance companies and their personnel. Reddekopp will serve as Spirati’s senior vice president and chief design officer.
