Travelers, a member of St. Paul Travelers, presented its Agent of the Year Awards on May 5 to 17 independent insurance agents from around the country at its annual personal lines leadership conference for top independent agents and brokers in Boca Raton, Florida.
Recognized for their commitment to working with Travelers to achieve long-term profitability and growth for their agency, the following individuals were named 2004 Agent of the Year: Joe Lesher of AAA Colorado, Denver; Peter Schmale of Schmale Insurance Services, Larkspur, Calif.; Deborah Vela of Vela Insurance Agency Inc., Denver; and John Booth of Associated Agents Insurance, Lakewood, Colo.
“We are proud to honor each of these insurance professionals as Agent of the Year for sharing Travelers’ commitment to growth, strength, leadership and stability in the industry,” said Joseph P. Lacher Jr., executive vice president of personal lines for Travelers. “These individuals continue to build their personal lines business by professionally meeting the needs of their customers and generously giving their time and talents to the industry and to their communities.”
