San Francisco-based State Compensation Insurance Fund -California’s largest workers’ compensation insurance carrier – has
appointed Robert W. Daneri as chief counsel. Daneri had served as assistant chief counsel since 1987.
Daneri, of Redwood Shores, brings more than a quarter-century of
legal workers’ compensation experience to his new post at State Fund.
“Bob Daneri has been an invaluable asset to State Fund’s Executive
Committee and has achieved a tremendous record of success in numerous complex cases in such diverse areas as personnel, civil service, equal employment opportunity and workers’ compensation,” said State Fund President Dianne C. Oki. “Bob has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and provided outstanding service to policyholders, district offices and state agencies.”
Daneri began his State Fund career in 1978 after a four-year career in private practice. He began his career at State Fund as staff counsel and two years later was promoted to staff counsel II. In that post, he handled both workers’ compensation litigation and corporate legal research. In 1986, Daneri was promoted to senior staff counsel, serving as head of State Fund’s Legal Department’s entire Corporate Services division. He was promoted to assistant chief counsel in charge of Corporate Services and Appellate sections in 1987.
