January 10, 2005

The American Agents Alliance announced the addition of J. Kevin Pedrotti as the association’s lobbyist. Pedrotti is the founder and principal of JKPedrotti Inc., and has an extensive background in legislative, political and regulatory affairs. Prior to the founding of his own agency, Pedrotti was a partner for 12 years with the firm of Norwood & Pedrotti. He has a total of 25 years of experience at the state capitol.

“Kevin’s guidance and expertise will no doubt prove to be a big asset to furthering the legislative goals of the American Agents Alliance,” said Alliance Executive Director Ken Nigohosian. “He has an excellent track record of accomplishments in Sacramento, and we are looking forward to adding to that record with our own successful legislative campaigns.”

“I am anxious to begin my representation of the Alliance in Sacramento. There are many issues expected this legislative session that will directly affect independent insurance producers,” said Pedrotti. “I am looking forward to working with Ken and the Alliance’s Board of Directors on its members behalf.”

A trade association for independent insurance producers in California and Arizona, the American Agents Alliance has been advocate for brokers and agents since 1966.

“Since our founding, we have met many challenges in the industry and some outright threats to our members’ businesses,” said Nigohosian. “Today, we are facing regulatory and legislative issues that, once again, are poised to have a significant impact on Alliance members and other insurance professionals in the state. Kevin’s presence at strategy sessions and negotiation tables will bring the Alliance an even higher level of trust and respect.”

Alliance President David Nielson, echoes Nigohosian’s sentiments: “Bringing Kevin aboard only strengthens our position as one of California’s top agent/broker associations and a resource, not just for our members, but for legislators, the Department of Insurance and the insurance industry as a whole. He has proven himself to be an excellent advocate for independent agents and brokers, and has a well deserved reputation as a fair but firm negotiator. We are pleased to have him on our team.”
