California-based Countrywide Insurance Group reported that chief operations officer Doreen DeLaney was named a Corporate Trailblazer by Minorities in Business Magazine. She was honored at the publication’s 10th Annual Multicultural Prism Awards (MPA) Gala.
The Corporate Trailblazer award is given to an active member of community organizations who has consistently demonstrated excellence in his/her professional life and has pioneered the way for others. DeLaney accepted the award for this distinction alongside individuals in business, sports, entertainment and fashion that were recognized for their accomplishments in a variety of additional categories.
In her role as chief operations officer, DeLaney provides oversight and strategic direction for Countrywide Insurance Group’s information technology, claims, central operations, and human resource activities. Her work in maintaining business continuity during this year’s hurricane season was reportedly pivotal in allowing Countrywide Insurance Group to support the needs of policyholders impacted by the hurricanes.
DeLaney recently represented Countrywide as an inaugural speaker at Rebuilding Together’s Rebuild 1000 campaign to repair and renovate 1,000 homes affected by Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.
