Washington’s Office of the Insurance Commissioner has scheduled a public hearing to consider a request to acquire three Washington domiciled insurers on Dec. 4. The companies are Unigard Insurance Co., Unigard Indemnity Co., and Unigard Pacific Insurance Co.
The 2 p.m. hearing will be held in the Insurance 5000 Building at 5000 Capitol Blvd. in Tumwater.
The three companies sell property and casualty coverage and are wholly owned subsidiaries of Winterthur US Holdings Inc., which in turn is wholly owned by Credit Suisse, a Swiss holding company. The proposed acquisition includes Winterthur Swiss Insurance Co. and Winterthur US Holdings Inc.
